I am requesting financial assistance in the form of a grant for
the purpose of purchasing the home that I am currently living in. I am
unable to get a loan due to a bankruptcy on my record. I moved from
Florida to Georgia, which is my home area, after being away for almost
12 years. Nothing seemed to go as planned after the move. Jobs were
scarce in the area and I was only able to get a temporary full-time
job, not to extend past Sept. 30th,2005. I am in a wonderful house and
don't want to move again. I went through my whole retirement money
moving my family to Georgia, and just had my 44th birthday this month.
It feels like starting over from scratch with no promise of hope in
sight for my family. My job doesn't offer any benefits since it is
listed as temporary...no health, retirement, or anything else. We are
paying $1,000 per month on a 4BR house...I have 3 sons and am with the
father of my youngest son. We have been together for the past 13
years...most of which has been spent struggling month to month. I just
feel that if we could purchase the house that we are currently renting,
it would take a huge burden off of us every month...and we would be
able to see some light at the end of our tunnel...and get everything
back on track once and for all. I realize that this is a huge request,
but I am very sincere in my request and want so much to be able to
focus on being there for my family. I want to thank you for the
